Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

“A thrill of hope, a weary world rejoices” – Oh, Holy Night

Every year brings new reasons to praise our God. In 2024, I am incredibly thankful for my loving family, faithful friends, and a God who has blessed me immeasurably. I rejoice in our family milestones:

With the grands, we celebrated a beautiful wedding for the oldest, the grandson-in-law’s graduation, the last performance for the oldest granddaughter in OBU’s marching band, a granddaughter’s baptism on her 16th birthday, the last game of high school football for the grandson, a granddaughter’s second work anniversary, and the youngest grandchild’s adorable loss of her two front teeth just before Christmas. These shared experiences have been a testament to the love and grace of our Lord, and I’m grateful for each one.

“All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.”

As for me, I made strides with the rough copy of my book amid a health saga that went on and on and on. People rarely reach their mid-sixties without complications. However, I am grateful for the successful surgeries I underwent and for the support and love I received from my dear husband, family, and friends. These experiences were clear signs of God’s blessings in my life.

“Tidings of Comfort and Joy.” – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Although this year will mark my husband’s first full year of retirement, he continues to encourage me in my ministry efforts. Several extraordinary ladies assisted with the Wednesday night Bible study class, the Women in the Church topical study, and the quarterly workshops. I appreciate all of you more than words can express.

“Oh, come all you unfaithful. Oh, come, though you have nothing.”

This year, we’ve all had joys worth celebrating. If you’ve faced challenges and disruptions like me, remember to look for the ways they have led to unexpected growth. I’ve experienced this in my own life, and I trust that you, too, have seen God’s grace in your life. On this Christmas Day, let’s focus on the marvel of God the Son becoming human—for the salvation of all those whom He has called and who put their trust in Him!
