The Lord is My Portion

Lamentations 3:22-24

I can’t help but feel a sense of empathy for Jeremiah and his struggles. It’s so easy to lose hope in the midst of pain and despair, and to feel disconnected from the very things that once brought us joy and comfort.

But I’m glad that Jeremiah’s story doesn’t end there. Despite his doubts and struggles, he eventually experienced a heart change that allowed him to reconnect with God and find hope once again.

I think that’s a powerful reminder for all of us. No matter how far we may feel from God or how hopeless our situation seems, there is always a chance for renewal and redemption. We just have to be willing to seek it out.

So if you’re feeling lost or disconnected today, don’t give up hope. Remember that God’s mercies are new every morning, and that He is always there waiting for us to return to Him. And don’t forget the importance of spiritual disciplines like prayer, Bible reading, and worship. They may seem small, but they have the power to transform our hearts and bring us closer to the One who loves us most.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” – Lam 3:22-24
