I was sitting on the balcony before sunrise, and as the day brightened enough to allow me to view the mountain’s edge, I could see fog in the valley. Blue Mountain Lake appeared to the east when the fog began to lift. The splendor of God’s creation is everlasting and points us straight to Him. These mountains existed before I knew of them and will continue to exist after me.
Mankind often thinks we are intelligent, yet the best things we create do not last. Those things we are impressed with, such as art, architecture, and technology, waste away, often replaced by something newer and better.
Our Creator God displays His glory perfectly so that we may know Him. I know God, and perhaps you do, too, but I will never stop hungering to learn more about Him. We will only experience the fullness of His glory once we see Him face to face.
I long for the time to worship with every tribe and tongue, the saints (and martyrs) who’ve gone before me, and the angels we can only imagine. The beauty of the mountains and valleys before me is not even a foretaste of what is yet to come!
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
