Navigating the Evolving Landscape of Information

When I think of my mother-in-law, the picture that comes to mind is vivid: she’s at the kitchen table with a steaming cup of coffee, the newspaper spread wide before her. She would scan the headlines, then move with quiet determination to the crossword puzzle, pencil in hand, completely absorbed in the gentle rhythm of her morning ritual. I can almost hear the crinkle of thin newsprint, feel its texture between my fingers.

Today, that newspaper has given way to an iPad and a digital subscription—but the memory lingers. And now, I catch glimpses of that same pattern in my own home. My husband, coffee by his side, leans over his phone’s crossword app with the same focused calm. It’s a reminder that while so much changes, some threads of life keep weaving their way forward.

I think, too, of the console television that once stood like a proud piece of furniture in our living room. I’ll never forget the look on my dad’s face the day Batman appeared in full color—it was pure wonder. Then came the bulky, humming personal computer, awkward at first yet brimming with possibility. Chapter by chapter, I’ve watched the way we gather and share knowledge transform with each wave of technology.

And now, another chapter begins.

In a world shifting faster than ever—especially in how we connect and communicate—I find myself looking back at the story of this blog with a deep sense of gratitude. What started as Endure on Blogspot was simply me trying to put into words what the Lord was teaching my heart. Later, it became Pulling Honey (Psalm 119:103) on Weebly, a space that grew alongside me, offering encouragement and new ideas. Step by step, the Lord has taken what began as a simple journal and shaped it into something far more than I could have imagined.

Here at debbieswindell.com, this space has become more than a blog. It has become a ministry home—where women can come for practical study tools, reflections to carry into daily life, and the reminder that none of us walk this journey alone. At its core, it has always been about one thing: knowing God more deeply and growing in Him together.

But just as the technology on our tables has shifted, so too have the ways we connect. Social media races forward, attention spans grow shorter, and my own season of life has brought fresh questions. Lately I’ve been asking one in particular—one I believe every believer should pause to ask now and then: Where can I serve most faithfully and effectively right now?

For me, the answer is clear. It means closing the chapter of weekly blog posts and stepping into something I believe will serve you—and me—more fruitfully: a monthly newsletter.

The Newsletter: Our New Home for Connection

Instead of continuing the blog in its current form, the newsletter will become the heartbeat of my online ministry. Think of it as a personal letter, written straight to you, filled with encouragement, fresh insights, and bonus resources delivered directly to your inbox.

The first issue of the newsletter will launch September 1, and subscribers can expect it to arrive on the first of each month thereafter. If it doesn’t appear in your primary inbox, be sure to check your spam or promotions folder so you don’t miss it.

While podcasts and TikTok videos may dominate today’s trends, that isn’t where I feel called. My calling is simpler, yet no less powerful: to invest in my family, my church, my community, and to cultivate a deeper, more personal connection with you, through words that encourage, equip, and inspire faithfulness in Christ.

My Heart for This Site

Though the format is shifting, the mission of this website remains unchanged: to provide trustworthy, practical resources that encourage your walk with the Lord. Here, you will continue to find:

  • A growing library of free digital booklets on the Home page
  • An array of faith-building printables on the Free Printables page
  • An expanding collection of Bible and topical studies on the Bible Studies page
  • Carefully selected recommendations on the Tips and Links page for deeper discipleship
  • An archive of informative and encouraging articles on the Blog Page

One of the blessings of keeping this site active is that I can easily point the women I teach, disciple, or counsel to these resources. Whether it’s a truth-filled article, a Bible study, or a tool for personal growth, this site will remain an asset not only for me as I serve others, but also for anyone who wants to access these resources directly.

Every resource, written, designed, or curated, is crafted with Christian women in mind. Whether you’re seeking guidance for your quiet time, material for a group study, or simply a fresh perspective on your faith journey, you’ll find something here to inspire and support you.

Let’s Keep Walking Together

This may be a new chapter, when I have less social media presence, but the heart behind my ministry hasn’t changed. I believe we grow best in community, walking together as women who long to know God more deeply and follow Him more faithfully. One step at a time.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your encouragement, prayers, and hunger for truth inspire me more than you know.
