Take Hold of the Journey: Progress, Resilience, and Faith

I wanted to catch you up on my journey with my tremor and the progress of my manuscript since my last update. In my October 26th blog post, I opened up about how my tremor has evolved and the daily hurdles I’m navigating. It’s been a time of adjustment, and if I’m honest, I’ve had to lower my expectations a bit along the way. The challenges have been both physical and emotional, but I’m grateful for the support and understanding I’ve received. I aim to take hold of the journey with resilience and faith.

Dealing with the internal tremor is akin to a rollercoaster ride; some days are smooth, while others are bumpy. Yet, I find myself genuinely grateful for the good days and nights! The tremor, which predominantly affects my hands and arms, has prompted me to adapt my posture and technique. On the brighter days, I press harder on those keyboard keys, determined to keep writing. I’ve even taken a proactive step by ordering weighted bracelets, hoping they might help steady my hands (even a little). It’s a journey of resilience and hope, and I’m determined to keep moving forward.

Now, let’s talk about my manuscript! Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been pouring my heart into revising my book. It’s a deeply personal project reflecting my faith journey and personal growth. I’m excited to share that it’s shaping up beautifully! I believe it’s ready enough for me to hear from a couple of readers, and I’m carefully weighing my options for editing and publishing.

The book Mornings With an Everyday Theologian is a heartfelt blend of personal reflections, scripture, and theological insights. Each week, it will serve as a tool for daily readings, complete with guided Bible reading and thought-provoking questions at the end. I can’t wait to share it with all of you and hope to see it published in 2025!

Meanwhile, I’m also leading a group of remarkable ladies through the four core principles of biblical counseling. It’s not just a teaching opportunity but a chance to share what I’ve learned and encourage others to apply it in their problem-focused conversations, both with others and themselves, as they grow in their faith. It’s a joy to see how we’re all growing together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of my community of believers.

The Wednesday evening inductive Bible study at church is also thriving. We’ve been diving into Ephesians, and four younger ladies whom I’ve mentored are helping out. It’s incredible to see how we’re all learning and growing together. I’m committed to teaching women how to study their Bibles and to encouraging them to connect with fellow believers in their local churches.

Life isn’t always linear, is it? We all face curves and challenges that can sometimes lead to discouragement. But when we look at the faithful characters in the Bible, we’re reminded that although our struggles may look different, we are all human at our core. The question remains: will you shy away from challenges or confront them head-on using biblical principles?

God has been so good about allowing me to serve Him and providing opportunities. I may have to take life a little slower these days, but I’m embracing each moment and all it brings.

God is not yet done with me. Of this, I am sure. Thanks for being part of this journey with me!
